Culture Sonore 2025 – PCTO Applied Shakespeare “Magia del bosco/magia del mare in A Midsummer Night's Dream”

As part of the 2025 edition of the Culture Sonore Festival in Ravello, students from the Istituto Marini-Gioia were the protagonists of the PCTO workshop (Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e l'Orientamento) “Magia del bosco/magia del mare in A Midsummer Night's Dream”.

The project was coordinated by Prof. Maddalena Pennacchia, with the support of Ilaria Diotallevi (PhD candidate) from Roma Tre University, in collaboration with Prof. Beatrice Carbone of the Marini-Gioia Institute.

The workshop engaged students in an exploration of Shakespeare’s play, which became a guide to developing a renewed awareness of their local area in relation to the diverse linguistic and sound cultures that have shaped it over time.

Through a series of experiential activities, students were encouraged to discover Shakespeare’s text and to explore its creative and emotional potential.

The workshop concluded with a performative presentation in the evocative setting of the Giardini del Monsignore in Ravello, where students presented collectively created “staging fragments” based on their reinterpretation of the play.
